Europlastic irony

Oh the irony…  Perhaps someone should tell the arch Europlastic, Roger Helmer, that the triumph of hope over experience is kidding himself the Conservative party will abandon its pro-EU fetish. After all, it’s been 40 years for heaven’s sake.

And it’s not just Cameron who thinks we should reform the EU from within, it is George EUstice and Chris Heaton-Harris too – two men Helmer believes have impeccable Eurosceptic credentials and whose Europlastic Parliamentary grouping Helmer says he supports. despite it being opposed to an in/out referendum!

Perhaps it is not hope Helmer is exhibiting, rather it is delusion.

A charitable view. It could be just plain deceit.

And from my correspondence with Mr Osborne, he also believes that the EU delivers benefits to our country that outweigh the costs incurred.
