Who should run Britain?

‘Who should run Britain?’

That is the only issue and it cannot be avoided any longer.  Should we stay trapped in the EU or should we become independent?  Whether it is immigration, trade, environment, energy or any other governance matter, the EU tells us what to do and we have to do it.

The pro-EU side try to frighten people with lies about having to stay in the EU (politics) to be part of the single market (economics).  It’s not true.  They only say it to move attention away from the core issue of sovereignty.

Don’t play the game the politicians want us to play by focusing on single issues like immigration, because all the roads lead to one place – sovereignty.  Look at the bigger picture and ask yourself ‘Who should run Britain?’ then decide if you want that to be the British or the EU.

A decade before the English Civil War, this was popular:

Who rules the Kingdom? The King.
Who rules the King? The Duke.
    Who the Duke? The Devil.

It’s amazing how many people on this damp island believe that Westminster is in control and that Brussels makes only brief and occasional incursions into our governance. The 17th-century saying might need a modern equivalent.

Let’s hope that at the 11th hour HMG might see sense regarding the threatened incursion of Bulgarians and Rumanians and postpone it for 5 years (which will hopefully mean forever). But if it does happen, the only good thing about it might be that the chilling reality of our loss of sovereignty will finally impinge on even the dimmest wits, and lead to irresistible popular pressure for withdrawal.
